Fire Crews Kept Busy 1/12/2011
Chelan County Fire District Seven crews were busy Monday night. An evening call involved apartments in the 1100 block of South Bradley in South Chelan where a small fire in a bathroom set off the sprinkler system. According to Assistant Chief Rusty Stamps, the fire was mostly extinguished when crews arrived. Two apartments were damaged, however most of the contents were saved. The cause and amount of damage is still being assessed. Crews responded to a second call at about 3:30 Tuesday morning that found an abandoned orchard cabin fully involved in the 19,000 Block of South Shore Road. The blaze was knocked down in short order and the owner took over clean-up duties. No cause has been established as yet.
