National Recognition For Work With Fish Habitat Protection 1/11/2011
Chelan County’s Natural Resource Director, Mike Caputa has received National recognition for his work involving fish habitat protection. Commissioners presented Caputa with a certificate of appreciation from U-S Interior Secretary Ken Salazar. Commissioner Doug England says the certificate acknowledges Caputa’s of work over the past decade on behalf of the Upper Columbia River Salmon Recovery Board. Following the presentation Caputa said he was thrilled with the recognition, but he stressed that it was a team effort.

Right after receiving the award, Caputa was off again for a trip to Stehekin to meet with U-S Park Service officials regarding the agency’s plans for relocating a section of roadway damaged by last year by floods.
