A Brewster man was killed in a one-vehicle collision last night near Malott.
Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers said a pickup truck missed a curve on Chiliwist Road at about 9:06 p.m. and went down an embankment of about 80 to 100 feet.
The truck crossed a creek and went down another embankment, then caught fire.
Jason Westerdahl, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene, after emergency crews doused the flames to find him still inside the pickup.
Eric Foyle, 26, also of Brewster, was ejected from the truck and landed in a nearby field.
He was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Rogers said an autopsy will be done today to determine Westerdahl’s cause of death and make a positive identification of the body.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
