A Pateros woman was cited with negligent driving after the State Patrol says she caused a state trooper to crash his car on Monday afternoon and then drove away.
Amy Wu, 54, was heading north on Highway 97 at 2:45 p.m. about nine miles south of Okanogan when her 1994 Ford Ranger pickup crossed the center line, forcing an oncoming State Patrol vehicle to swerve in order to avoid a collision.
The patrol car, driven by State Trooper Nick Hagg of Okanogan, spun out and ended up in a ditch.
The State Patrol estimated only about $32 worth of damage to Hagg’s vehicle.
Nobody was injured.
